Monday

Got up at 7 - and out of the house at 8.20 to pick up Susie at the station.  Drove to Ashridge Estate and arrived in a car park at 9.30 am feeling very pleased with ourselves for being half an hour early.  Half an hour later we realised we were in the wrong car park and rushed off down the road to one that was within view of the monument and found everyone else there waiting for us (with no mobile signal so our texts and calls had not been received).  Notwithstanding we had a lovely 6 mile walk taking in a couple of bluebell woods.  The bluebells were on their way out but still lovely.  Had a nice pub lunch at the Valiant Trooper in Aldbury - now under new ownership but still very dog friendly with dog treats on the bar.  Got home about 3.30 and spent a few hours on the computer updating blog and clearing out emails. Didn't go ringing so as to rest wrists.  They had 8 anyway and had a good practice - with Katherine ringing plain course of Stedman.  Had a nice early night after watching interesting Panorama programme on Hillsborough disaster.  Finished off the ironing too.
